SMITH AND SONS THROW WEIGHT BEHIND AMAZING LOCAL CHARITY
Smith and Sons has shown its support to local charity, Charlotte’s Brightside, a community charity that aims to support families across Wallasey.
The Wirral’s leading property consultant has donated a sum of money to the charity which is fully self-funded and requires in excess of £100,000 a year to operate.
Charlotte’s Brightside was launched with the aim of supporting the local community, hosting regular activities for both adults and children, including a lunch club and breakfast club. For families, activities are held with the aim of positively influencing children's life choices and chances, without the usual cost implications. Work is also carried out with partner agencies to help manage finances, job search, address housing issues, welfare advice and more.
Angie Churchill of Charlotte’s Brightside commented: “We rely on local support and fundraising for much of our day to day operation and we are seeing more and more local people come to us for support, advice and contact.
We have recently moved into a new building which is much more visible for the community. We have a social supermarket, which is open for use by anyone, where we purchase food at reduced costs, and then sell at a fraction of supermarket prices.
Smith and Sons gave us a considerable donation which will definitely help make such a positive impact - we can provide activities, snacks, meals, experiences for many children and young people.”
The charity was formed in memory of Charlotte Churchill, a local young girl who tragically died in a car accident. Charlotte was fun, full of life and was training to be a nursery assistant. She made an impact on all who met her. The charity has grown and evolved since and now it has a fantastic team of volunteers.
Andrew Smith, Managing Partner at Smith and Sons added: “We are really pleased to be able to support this fantastic charity that does so much for the local community. As a long established Wirral business, it’s incredibly important for us to help where possible, and reach out to local groups that provide an invaluable resource to those that need it.
