SMITH AND SONS RAISE £2.76M AT LATEST PROPERTY AUCTION

Property Auctioneers, Smith and Sons, has raised £2.76 million at its latest property auction with 70% of lots sold, and other sales currently in the pipeline.

The online auction once again attracted strong interest, with several lots generating final sales prices far above the guides.

Stand out lots include Radcliffe Road in Liverpool, a three-bedroom terraced house that sold at £88,250 against a guide of £55-60,000, a two bedroom terraced home on Larch Road in Birkenhead which sold for almost double the guide at £61,250 and another house in Howson St which reached £66,750 against a guide of £30,000.

Land in Eastham Village, Wirral, with planning for 2 bungalows saw fierce bidding from several potential buyers, with the hammer falling at £298,000 against a guide of £110-140,000.

Chris Johnson, Auctioneer at Smith and Sons commented: “Once again, we've seen a great result at our Autumn auction and whilst we didn’t have the 100% sell-out result of our last sale, we did anticipate this following the end of the stamp duty holiday.

“The auction process can often act as a barometer for the wider property sector and we believe this excellent result is a fair reflection of the UK residential sales market at the moment.”
