A QUALITY PROPOSITION

Following recent reports of a lack of available office space in Liverpool city centre, property consultants, Smith and Sons, have confirmed they have over 30,000 sq. ft. of high quality office space currently available in Wirral.

The announcement comes in stark contrast to a recent report which highlights a shift away from the commercial use of key buildings in Liverpool City Centre, which are increasingly being transformed for residential and leisure use.

Jason Wadeson, Partner at Smith and Sons said: “Wirral remains an ideal location for businesses. The area has the scope and range to cater for firms requiring good quality office accommodation in the form of buildings such as Haymarket Court on Conwy Street, Atlantic House on Hamilton Street and Europa Boulevard.”

He added: “We are undoubtedly seeing more interest in offices within Wirral, whether that’s because of a shortage of opportunities in Liverpool or whether people are becoming more switched on to Wirral as a destination business address is unclear. What is clear, however, is that the borough has an attractive infrastructure in terms of commercial space which is drawing more and more interest.”

In comparison to Liverpool’s rents set typically between £18 per sq. ft. and £20 per sq. ft., rents of similar Wirral-based buildings are approx. £10 per sq.ft. With development plans underway as part of Peels’ Wirral Waters, Smith and Sons are anticipating a continued surge in interest in Wirral as a sound alternative to a Liverpool business address.
